2012 Dauphin Island Show
Best of show winner Gordon Bass and his 1937 Indian Chief
Beverly Moritz and Mike Thomason held down the registration booth
The weather gods shown on the 2012 show with warm sunny weather the entire day. That brought out record crowds and the Dauphin Island School Parent Teacher Organization raised $4950 for the school. We had 92 bikes entered and gave out 40 trophies so almost half of the entrants went home with a prize. The gods did not shine on our two organizers, Carlos Forte and Rick Moritz. A week before the show Carlos dropped his Moto Guzzi while backing it out of his garage and it landed square on his foot breaking it. Struggling to extract his foot and right the bike he then wrenched his back. A few days before the show Rick fell through a hole in the floor at a construction site and wrenched his back. But both of our organizers vowed that the show must go on and hobbled around the show site tending to business. The PTO folks made some of the best shrimp poboys you ever tasted. Below is a list of the show winners and many of the entrants can be viewed in the Gallery
