This is a jackal. It is the size of a small dog. Notice the landscape. The elephants like young trees to eat so they keep most of the 

area open. The grazers keep the weeds down so most of the bush is pretty open like you see here.  It was high summer

and the rainy season so everything was green. It never got over 80 degrees while we were there.  It did rain on us one day though.
